Guest guest
Hi everyone -- I'm new to the group. I have a 5 year old on the spectrum but there are differing opinions as to if it is aspbergers or ppd-nos.I've heard a lot about supplements and diets (the doctor feels they can't hurt), and was hoping to get more info on cod liver oil. Is this the same as the Omega 3 Fish Oils? Also, how do you get your child to take it? It is a struggle to get anything into my son. Any more info you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Guest guest
Shauna, That is great. Does the taste of the cod liver oil bother him? I know omega 3's are a god send. I give my son flax seed. It has the same properties as cod liver oil. It goes well in just about anything. I use it in oatmeal, cereal, muffins, etc... Glad you found something that works.-son Brady 13 -bp,asp,add,tourettes8 th grd middle school, IEP One on one aide "Finally"mainstream."Take the time to live forever" From: luvstmar <togetherinautism@...>Subject: Codliver Oil making HUGE impact on my child...Autism and Aspergers Treatment Date: Friday, November 28, 2008, 8:21 AMI Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving... Guest guest
Hi, I’ve not heard of either of these. Is the flax seed that you add to the oatmeal? How much do you give? Thanks! Guest guest
I love cod liver oil. I can not say too much about it. My mother grew up taking it as a child. Speak to your grandparents and you will see it used to be the norm for child vitamins way back when. I have the pickiest eater but have found he does not dislike the taste. However, it does come in flavors. The emulsified is lame. It takes like 26 pills to equal a tablespoon so going with the liquid is best. Also, I recommend Carlson's brand in the green glass bottle. You may have to go to a health food store or order online but it keeps so much longer because it is purer. The TwinLabs or American generic brands go rancid so fast even with storage in the fridge. I highly recommend everyone with ASD give it a try. We too saw dramatic improvement in speech. > > I Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving... > Thought I should share...
