Guest guest
Hi everyone, Nothing posted for a couple days so I take it most us are doing fairly well. That is good news to me. I know I can't complain as I have had much worse days than I'm having now and hope and pray it keeps up for us all. Best wishes to all, Jay
Guest guest
I'm on Remicade which is somewhat similar to Humira and it has permitted me to become pretty fully functional but it took a long time for it to work. From what I have heard a very few people get relief from Humira within a week or so, but more typically it takes about three months and some have taken as long as six months before it became effective. Prednisone can cause problems with blood sugar so with diabetes your husband needs to check frequently and perhaps space the Prednisone to keep blood sugar more level. Prednisone, like most medicines, can have some bad side effects but is also needed sometimes for its good effects. Some medications can be very helpful for depression and it is fairly common for people not yet controlled with their RA to be depressed. Please have your husband ask about medications for depression. They may help a lot. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: steph Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Monday, July 26, 2004 1:40 PM Subject: ra my husband john is 38 and has ra along with type 1 diabetes (insulin dep) and neuropathyhe is home now on a med leave because the ra is so bad the dr has him on 8 methotrexates(weekly),20 mg predisone(daily)and right now a mix of viccodin and percocete for pain and he's waiting for approval on humira.has any one ever used this?how long?hows your lifestyle been since?right now hes ALWAYS tired sleeps alot and seems to be in depression because he cant do something as simple as open a soda bottle .hes only 38 and he says he feels like hes 90 does anyone have any tips??advice???it would be greatly appreciatedmy name is steph by the way!!!
