Guest guest
Regardless of whether or not this is one of the 10 new policies Obama Adopts with his change.org campaign on Jan 20 - I will still be placing a much more expanded and broader proposal with the same name upon it. To vote for " The Autism Reform ACT of 2009 " (which covers all ASD's), please go to: http://www.change.org/ideas/view/accept_and_sign_the_autism_reform_act_of_2009 They already know this legislation is coming, but it would be helpful if he already makes it policy. We have an opportunity for change and we must make our votes count. When you visit the site remember posting a comment on it won't make a vote, you have to join down at the bottom and then go to your email and come back. This is under " Education " , but covers everything from Insurance reform to pay for ABA programs, etc., Banning all illegal Restraint/Time Out, Insurance coverage for Treatments such as chelation, etc., Forming a Parent Advisory board in every state, requiring states to have hearing officers for due process that are FED Employees and not biased state employees, 5 mil. in grants for research, education, non profits, Requiring that States/Districts that do not comply lose block grant funding, Require that those that do not follow this ACT be subject to conviction for Illegal Restraint and other abuses... and more. We need to remember that not many votes have been casted and there is plenty of time to CHANGE the way things are for our children. Please visit and vote for it so the momentum does not stop. I have gathered close to 1,500 emails/posts regarding just a few of these topics that will accompany the actual written request for this Presidential ACT. We as parents can make a difference.
