Guest guest
Howdy all, Just thought I needed to write a little report today about the weekend and all, starting Fri. the 4th of July. Well that morning I went down and bought a swimming pool, it is 15 ft. by 42 inches deep, so and I set that up. It has steel posts on the sides so is a pretty sturdy pool but was quite easy to put up really, and to fill with water on flat spot in the back yard. I had determined never to have a pool again as I'd bought one years ago when my kids were young, but alas these are new kids, my grandkids. So that night I took the kids to the fireworks and we had a lot of fun, Lucas stayed home with his mom, and it was good as he was afraid of the ones in the neighborhood and ran into the house. Then on Sat. morning I went to the pool store and bought supplies for the pool start up, and a thermometer with a yellow duckie to put in it, oh yes and a thermal blanket of plastic bubbles which if left in the sun is supposed to bring the temperature up from the 62 it first was out of the hose, to about 72 now, hopefully it will go some higher today as the sun is finally out. Yesterday, Sun. morning I picked the troop up for church, my three grandkids, it was nice, my pastor preached on freedom from bondage and many went up for prayer, then we went to eat, and guess what back to my house to swim, of course, no more Sun. quiet time for me! Then for evening we went to an all church barbecue, what they called a block party, and the kids enjoyed two very large blown up jumping things there, and jumped to their heart's content until dusk. Well that is about it here, just wanted to report on a very happy and blessed 4th of July weekend here in Oregon. The Olympic trials are over and all who are going to Beijing next month have been determined. Jeff and his family made it home in fine shape from the Grand Canyon, and Tom just called to report it has been two weeks of NO alcohol and he has to be at his meeting in an hour, it is at Crystalis, a re-hab program here locally, he has to go for 12 weeks. He also plans to start going to the Celebrate Recovery ministry at our church starting tonight, it will serve as his AA program the judge ordered for his DUI. Just want to praise the Lord for helping us out here, and answering our prayers!!!! Much love and my prayers for a happy summer wherever you are!
