Methylpred (Pred.) dosepak 4MG

I have some OA in lower spine, hips, knees. Also have a couple

disks " slightly " abnormal. Several docs have told me after tests,

MRI, xrays, etc. that my intense pain is out of proportion to the

amount of deterioration I have. A pain doc put me on Methylpred

(Pred.) dosepak 4MG. Over a week I went from 6 tabs a day to one,

then none (a classic taper). The doc said he wanted to see if it

affected my pain and if it did, then I probably had some sort of

rheumatoid disease even tho blood test did not show it.

Well, after one day my pain disappeared - EVERYWHERE - poof! It was

gone - even the slight stiffness in my hands, feet, etc (stuff I

never complained about as it was not bad). Anyway NO PAIN was the

good news and it was wonderful. It lasted for several days after the

last day's dose. Now for the bad news - I was very irritable and

agitated, ready to bite someone's head off all the time. It was not

good.

Now the pain doc wants to do an epidural - said it should give me

relief for up to months. Question; will I get " irritable and

agitated " or will the meds stay local and not have that affect? I

don't want to spend months pissed off at the world like when I was on

the oral stuff. NO one liked me then, not even me.

Please email me direct with your reply if possible.

Thanks,

Bob
