Guest guest
Hi there. We just went to Disney in November and we were able to get the special needs pass. What we did was bring a note from our doctor stating that our child has Asperger's Syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder, so any accomodations they could make to provide a more enjoyable experience for the family would be much appreciated. Here is the link where I got the idea...it also has a draft of a generic note to use. http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/dis_aut2.htm What we did was on our first day, it doesn't matter which park you go to (we happened to go to Animal Kingdom that day), just go to guest services, show them the letter, and they'll give the pass to you. I'm sure it depends on who you get at guest services as to how " easy " it is to get the pass, but I honestly don't think anyone would deny you the pass. The people we happened to go to didn't even really look at the letter, gave me the pass with no questions asked, and I didn't even have my son with me (he took off with his grandmother). I even told them that he is with his grandmother but if you want me to go get him I can and their response was basically, " Oh no that's okay! Don't worry about it. " They were extremely nice and it was a lot less of a hassle than I what I was prepared for (maybe that's from being so used to dealing with the schools and our insurance company! lol). It was really nothing actually...that was my experience. But again, it does depend on who you get so to be on the safe side, having the letter in hand with your son by your side is the way to go. And I seriously doubt they will deny you the pass, regardless. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I'll be glad to help! Take care, ~Kim > > Hi I read the post about Universal studios and was wondering if anyone > knows anything about accomodations at disney and universal? > documentation? types of accomodations? any tips?
