Guest guest
Hi everyone,.... I hope that everyone is doing alright today, and relaxing a little. I have been approved to start Humira soon, I am excited but a little scared also. If anyone has anything to share with me on Humira, please let me know. Guest guest
Hi Tawny, Congratulations on your approval of Humira. One thing that is recommended is to take a TB test before starting any anti-TNF drug as these can activate TB in your system. Your rheumatologist can probably do this for you. Some practical advise about injections.... Humira may sting when going in. My Rheumatologist recommends putting ice on the injection area first and to let the alcohol from the alcohol pad dry first before injecting as the stinging may come from the alcohol. The studies show very few side effects with Humira, but of course long-term effects are unknown. The thinking these days is to treat RA aggressively as it can do damage very quickly. Humira has helped me quite a bit. It was a chance I was willing to take before I get more damage. For me, I felt the RA fatigue disappear when I woke up the next morning. Of course, everyone may react differently. Please let us know how things are going.
