Guest guest
Sierra, I don't know that I ever came to terms with my RA. I'm still angry that I've got it and have to take drugs for the rest of my life and how it changed my life so abruptly. I am so thankful that I was diagnosed rather quickly, however, it came on quickly and severely. I was only diagnosed 10 months ago and the medications I've been given are starting to really help. I sometimes do not need pain meds on a daily basis!! Thank the Lord for that, and for Prednisone which I'm down to 15 mg daily from 50!! My 11 year old daughters love and care carried me through the first few months Fighting through the pain until the meds kick in is tough but there is life with RA. and a relatively good life I must say. some days are better than others and none will be as good as pre-RA but life is worth living without a doubt. I can still run Ambulance calls with my ambulance service, hold and hug my kids, work, and do most of the things I used to do. Hang in there, it will get better. I promise. Guest guest
Sierra,.... I have heard quite a lot about Plaquenel, but don't have a lot of knowledge about it. I am collecting all the info I can on it, so when I go for my doctor's visit, I can find out if it is good for me. I want to go off of the Prednisone. I am glad to hear that the side effects went away, you just probably needed to get use to it. We just have to do the best we can, and try to do all we can to be able to keep going. Take care Tawny > The bothersome side effects from Plquenil I described in an earlier > post(light-headedness) seem to have nearly disappeared after 6 weeks. > I'm grateful for that. Guest guest
granny lee, that is so great to hear that plaquanil is working well for you. I am sure going to mention it to my doctor. So your doctor might be trying you on humira soon, that will be great. I have heard a lot of positive results on humira, hugs Tawny > Tawney and Sierra.. i have been on the Plaquanil for about 4 or 5 years and it had been doing really well for me. it doesn't bother my stomach and though i do have some flares i still think i am a lot beter off than some folks on the list. i don't know if Dr will keep me on it after/if i go on the Humiran but time will tell. > love.. granny lee > > ---- Original Message ----- > From: Tawny > Rheumatoid Arthritis > > Sierra,.... > I have heard quite a lot about Plaquenel, but don't have a lot of > knowledge about it.
