My 9 1/2 started showing signs of language problems at 2 & then other developmental delays so we got him into early childhood ed, neurothereputics & speech. We thought he had PDD with his speech problem & would eventually " catch up " . Long story short, he still struggles at school, everything is difficult & the school dist. is testing him right now so they can get a more accurate " label " since it's just been " language disorder " on his IEP so far. It has been a frustrating road in some ways, but I've had lots of support & encouragement even though most people & professionals have told us " just keep working with him & he will probably outgrow it & catch up " . Reality is he may never be " normal " but thats okay with me. He's happy & loves school right now. I pray every day that continues & that I have the wisdom & strength to deal with whatever happens!
