Update and shooting at NIU

Thought I would go ahead and forward a letter I just wrote to another group, so I wouldn't have to repeat myself here. How are all of you doing today?

CAMPUS NIU today

HI everyone... Did you hear about NIU today?I worked tonight 4-9:15 at the mall, and guess what, we had some strange things happen tonight, some odd people out, like a full moon night. I had no idea something bad took place at NIU just miles away until I got home tonight........ I picked up from college at 3:50 and then left for my job.This was sad. I had no idea about NIU. Nate told me when I got home from work today at 9:30 PM.Nate said that it happened at about 3 PM.I then watched some TV and caught some of the news on this.NIU is the closest UNIVERSITY to our area, only about 55-60 miles away. We have been there many times. The boys have gone there all the time for their REGIONAL SCIENCE FAIR and REGIONAL HISTORY FAIR every March.I am so sad to hear about the shootings.In fact, Nate will be there in April for the Science Fair again. wants to go to NIU, he has said this for years.I heard that they have a good COMPUTER SCIENCE major there.That is what he is planning to explore for a major right now.PRAY for those students and their families, how sad.In DEC, they had something in the news about NIU having some threats written on the walls in a bathroom, so classes were cancelled. I heard about it, and it was their exam week, so I am sure that most everyone was guessing someone wanted to get out of exams. They cancelled school there for a day. However, I guess what the person wrote as a threat came true! in IL
