Guest guest
Hello everyone, My name is Barbara and I am 57 years old. I have had RA since I was 18 and on and off over the years until I got blood poisoning when I was 45 and since then I have had continual pain. I am in a wheelchair and have been homebound for over a year and a half. I am greatly over weight - I have gained 50 pounds in the year and a half. I am confined to a wheechair. I cannot even exercise with hand weights due to the pain in my arms, hands and neck. I have pain from my neck down to my toes. I also tried ankle weights and also cannot use them do to the pain. I have a needle phobia and do not like being around doctors or any medical person. I last saw a doctor six years ago and had x-rays and they showed I have no cartilage at all in my knees. I also have finger drift on both hands and enlarged knuckles. I am a mess. I want to help myself and need help doing so. I take aspirin - 16 a day and vitamins. The aspirins take the top off of the pain and that is all. I don't sleep well as I cannot get comfortable. I am totally dependent on my husband to do everything for me - except feed me, which, unfortunately I seem to be able to do quite well. I can get in the bed by myself by using ropes to pull up and I can get into the bathroom to the toilet using the doorknob to pull myself up. My husband has to help me dress, wash my hair, bathe (I cannot get into the shower or stand and have not had a shower for almost two years). As you might guess, it can be quite stressful for both of us. Thanks for taking your time to read this post. Regards, Barbara, Florida

I send you compassionate thoughts and prayers for relief from your pain. It obviously takes great inner strength to get though the days. Here's to your strength! Guest guest
Hi Barbara,.....I am sorry to hear that your feeling so bad. You haven't seen a doctor in six years, you have got to see one, preferably a rheumatologist that knows what their doing. There are medications that you can take, that is pill form. Also, there are pain meds, that could be helping you. I just can't stress to you enough, the first step to helping yourself is seeing a doctor. None of us like meds, or needles, but we have to, there is really not a choice. If you got on the meds, it could help so much. And you could start doing more for yourself, and feeling better. I am 40 years old,I am on humira which is a shot. I don't like needles either, but if it helps me, then I am going to do whatever it takes. Guest guest
Wow! Thanks for sharing this. Its been a long time getting there, but finally I can say " I have inner peace " . It's a wonderful, beautiful feeling. And I'm sure I'm a much nicer, kinder person to be around than I used to be. I am so blessed! Much love to you, ~ > > > Hello all you wonderful angels, > > I've been trying to load a picture of a poster I wanted to share with > you all, but for some reason, it keeps coming up with errors, so because > I love you all so, and it is relatively short, I will retype it here so > that we all may benefit from this daily reminder of some of the symptoms > of inner peace. This lives on my pantry door and is how I live on a day to day basis. Symptoms of Inner Peace An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment. A tendency to think and act spontaneously, rather than based on past experiences. A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others and judging other people. A loss of interest in conflict. A loss of the ability to worry. Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation Contented feeling of connectedness with others and nature. Frequent attacks of smiling. An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it. Inner Peace is contagious.......Pass it on! Love & Light and prayers to all, Rhondie
