Guest guest
About 8 yesars ago when I was diagnosed I was put on Plaquinal and Doxycycline. And for pain at first Motrin and then changed to Lodine. Then they added Methotrexate. They say the kind of RA I have is the form that jumps from joint to joint. I never know what joints will be OK in the morning. The last 3 days I could hardly walk with my knees. Today they are better but I can't close one hand and can't open the other. Two years ago I also had the Radioactive Iodine for my Thyroid. I was first treated with Tapazole for Graves disease. It was the Rheumy who found the swelling in the Thyroid. He said that the Graves is also an autoimmune disease and that it is unusual to have 2 autoimmune diseases. He said that Diabetes is also an autoimmune problem and I also have that. They have been trying to get me to take the IV drugs but I really hate to think about it. The drugs I am on now for the RA, Diabetes, Asthma and blood pressure are making me sick enough. I also have degenertive disease in the knees. I an getting Hylogon injections for that about every 6 months and that has helped very much. It keeps the bones in the knee from rubbing and causing pain. I am sorry to make this so long but I have problems getting time to post and wanted to answer some of the questions posted. I have had bouts of the loss of sensation. In the knee and ankle joints and sometimes in the toes and fingers. I have one finger that will turn white and hurt and then loose feeling. If I stretch it and excerise it and rub it the color will come back and the pain will subside. When I mentioned this to my Rheumy he called it trigger finger. I use Allegra D sometimes and Zertec D. sometimes and just take the nightly Singular right now.I donot think Singular does much for sinuses but I am taking it because of asthma. Anastasia. Guest guest
Greg, Thank you for sharing the info from your pharmacy rep. It would be a miracle if Xolair really does reverse airway remodeling. WOW. I have had significant improvement on my sinus allergies since starting Xolair - I hope it's not incidental. Thanks for the baby update - I'll be awaiting news of Riley's safe arrival!
