Guest guest
Hi all, This question is for any of you that have successfully navigaged the Social Security Admin. in applying and getting disability benefits. I am in the process of applying. I was told that my file had been pulled for quality assurance which is a random thing. The person here in Alaska had already determined that it was medically appropriate but the Seattle office pulled it for quality assurance. Have any of you experienced this? Just trying to figure out what this might mean in the big picture. Could they then reverse the decision? Feel free to email me privately. Thanks Janet
Guest guest
Hi Janet,....I am on disability, it started August of last year. It took only one time, but took a year. They also pulled my file, and told me the same thing. I live in Oklahoma, and it was sent to Texas. I thought it had something to do with the case, because I have RA. It's like they have to really determine if your disabled with RA, don't that bite! Guest guest
Hello Janet, I'm not sure what the quality assurance is all about but I am very interested in your quest for disability for I am seriously thinking about it applying myself. I understand it is not easy and to apply you must be out of work for 6 months. Please keep me up to date with your progress and if you can let me know what steps you had to go through and how long it takes. My e-mail address is dsmith0609@... Guest guest
I also finished my court date on the 19th. Lawyer said 30-60 days for judges response and up to 6 months for the benefits dept. Of course that's for El Paso TX area, some others she said could take even longer. She explained that theres a review committee that oversees the judges decision making, and thats one of the big delays. I filed my initial application AUG 05. Thank God I had private disability insurance or we all would be living with Grandma!
