We have always said that the Assessment works only with Excel later than 97.

And the 6.6 version and all previous did.  That was exactly why we had all the display problems with Maps and others.  Georg rewrote it from scratch, and we had to decide whether to limit the assessment or cut out older versions of Excel.  If somebody is still using Excel97 in 2012, perhaps it's time to update--or just keep using 6.6 if they don't mind older stuff.
