My Dr told me that people with RA stop producing the fatty lipids that

spread your tears around in your eyes. So, all the tears leak out, and

your eyes produce more and more tears because they think they don't

have enough. Thought it was interesting.

When my Dr and I were talking about it, I told him that mine were

horrible, raw from all the tears running constantly, up until I

started prednisone. He just nodded as though this was to be expected.

Maybe that is what helped me? I haven't had any extra tears since! It'

s funny because before I was diagnosed I had no idea what was causing

it, never had any allergies, but thought I must've picked some up

along the way. But I always wondered who has such horrible allergies

year round?!
