Guest guest
Case #1 Amy is a twenty two year old who had suffered a terrible brain injury as an infant. Due to that trauma, her functioning will never develop beyond most five or six year olds. She has great difficulty remembering any directions and was raised by her grandmother. For eighteen years her grandmother tried and tried to get her to wash in the shower, but after all that time and effort all she could get Amy to do was to stand in the shower under the water and on occasion wash her stomach over and over. In addition Amy developed the bad habit of putting her fingers into her mouth and is getting sick no less than every other month requiring a doctor visit. Case #2 and are brother and sister separated by only a year and a half in age and the older; is just about to enter Kindergarten. Just like thousands of other kids their age they never wash their hands before dinner without reminding and still hasn't started brushing his teeth correctly. That has become a problem since he's already had 2 cavities filled on baby teeth before age 5. on the other hand has had a small crusty rash on her lower leg that won't go away even after two months of prescription steroid cream. These two cases tried the NEW Hygien-E Challenge and the results follow: Case #1 After only six weeks of using the Hygien-E programs Amy is washing herself virtually independently. Her grandmother is absolutely astonished with those results after what she did for eighteen years and remarks that Amy is even retaining some of the directions from the shower program. In addition due to the increased awareness of better hygiene she has been washing her hands more frequently and although she still puts her fingers into her mouth, the number of doctor visits have dropped to less than half of what they were before participating in the three month Hygien-E Challenge. Case #2 and not only participated in the Hygien-E Challenge but also wanted the Hygien-E board game. The combination resulted in a much higher awareness of the importance of proper hygiene. After three months both of them now wash their hands before eating without any prompting. In addition makes her bed every morning and helps her brother with his. The rash on her leg is completely gone, although whether it is from better hygiene or a delayed response to the steroid cream is uncertain. is well on his way to avoiding any more dental visits for cavities. Not only has his brushing improved dramatically he actually looks forward to brushing his teeth.
