Kathy,

Sounds a lot like it is derived from Lauric acid from such as coconut oil and

breast milk. Lauric acid gets transformed to monolaurin.

Here is something I posted elsewhere in the past:

Dr Waring cited Coconut oil as being a potent activator of TPST (Tyrosyl-protein

sulphurtransferase) , it would make a lot of sense given the coconut-Lauric acid

relationship, also it might have something to do with the breast milk miracle I

remember reading about.

You can check these out for yourself, but I'm quite sure Dr Waring will endorse

the coconut-TPST story.

Jon.

This from below seems almost too good to be true!

" Lauric acid is a medium chain fatty acid, which has the additional beneficial

function of being formed into monolaurin in the human or animal body. "

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why a Human Milk Project? Human milk fat has a unique fatty acid composition. It

is approximately 45 to 50 percent saturated, about 35 percent monounsaturated

and 15 to 20 percent polyunsaturated. Of the saturated fatty acids made in the

mammary gland, up to 18 percent can be the antimicrobial fatty acids lauric acid

and capric acid. These antimicrobial fatty acids give the infant protection

against viruses such as HIV and herpes, bacteria such as chlamydia and

heliocobater, and protozoa such a giardia lamblia.

<<Lauricidin® can boost your immune system. >> from lauricidin.com

Just wondering what that would do to an immune system that is already in

super high gear.

I'm not sure that the statement is correct, it might be more correct to state

that Lauricidin is an anti-viral in its own right, and thereby helps the immune

system. I'm not aware that it boosts or activates it, though if the

hyperactive-immune system (as you suggest) is in top gear because it is trying

(and failing?) to deal with a particular pathogen, then Lauricidin might give it

the edge it needs which could then correspond to it selecting a lower gear as

the situation permits.

I don't think it actually does " boost your immune system " it most probably

helps it be more normal.

Jon.

I took the antioxidants, fatty acids, Vits and Mins. during the

breaks from abx. I did take Vit C with Mino (500 mg per day)

so I wouldn't get staining.

My RA friend (who's had almost as much abx as I have) has mixed

Lauricidin with her abx...but a few hrs after the abx.
