Wisconsin and forced vaccines

I sent an email to Wisconsin State Rep. Urban regarding Bill 850. He

sent the following response back. At least I got his attention. My original

email follows his response.

To Whom it may concern:

Please be clear that AB 850 does NOT force vaccinations. Under Assembly Bill

850, the Governor of Wisconsin is given the authority to declare a state of

emergency related to public health and to designate the Department of Health

and Family Services (DHFS) as the lead state agency to respond to that

emergency. If the Governor takes these actions, DHFS, as the public health

authority, is authorized to order any individual to receive a vaccination.

However, an exception to this requirement is provided if the vaccination is

reasonably likely to lead to serious harm to the individual or if the

individual, for reasons of religion or conscience, refuses to obtain the

vaccination. If an individual is unable or unwilling for these reasons to

receive the vaccination, DHFS may isolate or quarantine the individual during

a declared public health emergency. In addition, DHFS is required to

promulgate rules that specify circumstances, if any, under which a

vaccination may not be performed on an individual.

For example, in cases of small pox, the method of containment is to vaccinate

in a geographic circle around the outbreak. Understand that refusing

vaccination is your right, however at that point you would pose a potential

threat to the health and safety of the general public and as such, the

department under AB 850 would have the right to isolate or quarantine you.

That is the trade off you would make should you refuse to be vaccinated so

again, please be clear that AB 850 does NOT force vaccinations. And I cannot

imagine a bio-terrorist attempting to utilize chicken pox or other common

diseases which we routinely vaccinate for as a biological weapon.
