and all listmates,

The Today Show is a great idea as a forum for Dr. Goldberg. Does anyone out

there have any connections to this, any talk shows or any other news shows?

Besides having a beautiful Australian accent, has put us in touch with

someone who might be able to help with Good Morning America and some other

shows. Thanks , you're the best!!!

Otilia and are gathering stories to send Oprah to see if we have a chance

to get Dr. G on there. I'm always so impressed by the things parents will do to

help their children. I was also wondering about getting Dr. G a spot on talk

radio. Any connections out there for this? Just imagine the mountains we all

could move if everyone started talking about getting Dr. G some national

exposure to everyone they know. I had talked to for years and had no

idea he had these kind of connections

Also, another mom I have talked to for years has put us in touch with a great PR

firm who is very interested in helping us. This PR firm has wonderful ideas.

If each of you sent $20 to the Nids Coalition, maybe we could afford to get some

of their ideas started. There are about 700 people monitoring this list. We

could do a lot to help our cause if everyone gave what they can afford. All

donations are tax deductible. Please send contributions to:

Research Institute and Parent Coalition

3115 Foothill Blvd. Suite M-307

La Cresenta, Ca 91214

We need national exposure to get the funding to make the clinical trials and

autism centers we want to establish a reality. Please email me or call me at

(952) 925-9803 if you have any ideas or just want to join our army of parents

who are working hard to make things happen. Thanks gang.

Thanks for you kind words Marcia!

My contact now works at NBC (where I once worked), and used to work at ABC

and a number of other cable networks and is looking at a number of avenues

including those you mentioned. As you know, the Coalition will be

working directly on this - besides, I'm too far away!

Its great to see the rising energy I detect from many on the list (and from

10,000 miles!) to get out there and move this along.

It is a very exciting time, I do however, urge some caution on handling

approaches to media - believe me I have worked in the industry around the

world for over 20 years, and while we have the best opportunity now, we have

to make sure that it bites and that the response is the most positive we

could hope for. If not, it will set us back more so. To do this we all need

to be on the same page.

The Wakefield story is a great example of the press picking the wrong

message from his great research - they missed the point made in both his

papers that point back to an " immune mediated " disorder - I saw him say this

on 60 minutes in Australia last year, and the journalist glossed right over

it to focus on the MMR jab itself as a cause. Finally, Dr Wakefied's

researcher came forward recently to support him publicly, and the British

Government have now acknowledged that the issue warrants further study!!

We are all told in corporate life not to talk to the press - and hated being

told that. As I understand where we are in the effort - we need to get

the message out - and the call to action has been answered by many. I urge

that the efforts need to be directed back through the Coalition where I

understand a PR process is being developed. My " TV network " contact in NY

advised that it is best directed in this way - aside from me being too far

away!

Thanks all for understanding,

Lets keep these fires burning!
