Guest guest
FYI !!! Hi, As you may know, the Learning Disabilities Association of California helped to initiate a class action suit against the California Department of Education on their implementation and policies regarding the High School Exit Exam. Essentially, the originally proposals by the Department of Ed did not provide any accommodations for students with disabilities. LDA thought that this was clear a violation of federal and state laws. Although the court case is not completely settled, we already have had positive injunctions by the judge. On May 23rd East Bay LDA is hosting a talk on high stakes testing and the current law suit. Sid Wolinsky, Esq., the lead attorney for Disability Rights Advocates (DRA), will be our guest speaker at the Berkeley Friends Church at the corner of Sacramento Street and Cedar. PLEASE HELP US PROMOTE THIS IMPORTANT EVENT. I have pasted in additional information about the event below and attached a microsoft publisher file for those of you that can down load it. THANK YOU!!! We appreciate your support. Glenn Gelfenbein, MA, VP of East Bay LDA Board Member, LDA of CA Tina M. Hendrix Cure2000@...
