Matt,

My eight year old son's profile is, or was, much as the one you posted

(below). We use ButyrEn, from

Nutricology, which is a calcium-magnesium-butyrate supplement, (100 mg., 100

mg., 815 mg, respectively).

Ecological Formulas also carries a cal/mag butyrate supp. I order this from

NEEDS, www.needs.com

1-800-634-1380.

is approx. 52 lbs. He takes one tablet daily.

Subject: results from CDSA - interpretations requested :-)

hi group,

results back from great smokies. have seen a couple folks with

similar results:

n-Butyrate 6.4 10-30 normal

fecal pH 8.0 6.0-7.2 normal

chymotrypsin 2.8 6.2 - 41 normal

dysbiosis 19 20 is max (have seen someone post a 29!!)

NO issues with yeast, candida, has good flora, but

have to see the doc for detailed approach, and still waiting for

results on organic urine test, but wanted to see if anyone has seen

this type of test result.

doc's initial suggestion was pancreatic enzymes (found) and n-Butyrate

(haven't been able to find, except for a brand called " ParaZYME " )

also in my clueless search i have noticed alot of linkage between

secretin and the pancreas' normal functioning.

large history of pancreatic cancer in my family.

thanks in advance for any/all thoughts,

matt ganey

Holly,

Does the cal-mag-buty supp have an odor or bad taste? Gaylen mentioned how bad the buyterate he used was and he is not kidding. If it is the same as ours it was horrible. The smell lingered in the house for awhile. Holly does your son swallow the tablet or do you crush it?

Matt did the report indicate what may have caused the dysbiosis index to be so high? My son had and 18 but he had zero in all three beneficial bacteria's. Galyen also had a good point about the yeast sometimes not showing up on the stool test. I have heard a few people say they showed no yeast on the stool but it showed up on an Organic Acid Test (urine). I have heard positive things about the Great Plains test. Gaylen what kind of trail treatment would you suggest to see if there is a problem?

Thanks

a,

Regarding hand controls. I have driven for 36 yrs with hand controls.

After they

came out with the tilt wheel I have had it on all my cars and several vans.

The hand

controls do not interfer with the tilt wheel. They are mounted to the

steering column

but the tilt still operates fine. I am an OI and have more strength in my

arms and

quicker response so I never wanted to switch to pedal extensions. However,

if you

are able to use pedal extensions, it is always better to have both hands on

the

wheel. Hope this helps.

1 - are you washing all the coloring off of the pills ?

My son is on valtrex but the coloring has to be washed off first

because he's sensitive to blue food coloring.

2 - have you talked with Dr G about this ? he may suggest a different

antiviral, like famvir.

It may also be the paxil. is on celexa as he had a reaction to

paxil

and one of the other SSRIs.

Hyperactivity .... unendless energy ..

" peel the child off the ceiling* type of reaction.

3 - could there be anything in his diet contributing to the reaction?

we're seriously looking at foods containing phenols ...

perhaps just tomatoes (esp ketchup)

doris

Dear Arnold

I have been on this list for about ayear but have not been keeping up

with it these past couple of months. But this really caught my eye.

My son has gran mal, petit mal and status epilepticus.

In an attempt to improve the quality of his brain function, a year ago I

started him on a combination of flaxseed oil and ground flaxseed mixed in

homemade yoghurt three times a day...... the omega-3 fatty acids have proven

to be great brain food for him.

We get our flaxseed oil from vitaminworld..... we get the plain at about

$8.00 a pint as we get the lignans from the fresh ground flaxseed.

Oh txbluebelle I am in exactely the same shape as you are

in............51/2 yrs ago the summer before I started to pitch forward,

I was 119 lbs at age 52. .............NOW God Only knows what I am, the

biggest jeans I ever had was a 12/14 & I cannot get them closed, all my

weight has fallen to my belly area which to me looks HUGH. Like you

anytime I can get away without wearing a bra.........I don't but then I

think after I have my Revision they will be so flabby they will still

hang down to my waist, I have an idea, I will throw the left one over

my right shoulder & the right one over my left

shoulder,............maybe I will start a new Fashion Trend!!!

My waistline is also an inch below my bra bottom. This Flat Back makes

your whole body wacky, if I try to wear a skirt or dress there is no

way as the back is 4 inches shorter than the front which is way too

long. Since I have gotten so very bent I have only bought myself 2

pairs of sweat pants but not with the string or elastic ankles....these

look like regular pants but AHH the comfort of having nothing tight

around my waist if you could call it a waist..more like a globe as

txblue said. Also bought 3 or 4 sweatshirts in x large to match the

pants, before we leave for Missouri on Thursday I want to buy myself at

least a dressy sweat suit or 2.

I have an appointment with Dr Bridwell at 9:15am, everything was

signed, sealed & sent by fax to the Angel Flights East so they will be

calling by tomorrow to tell us the Flight Plans,

Dr Bridwells Office is run like a well oiled machine, I recieved a large

packet a wk after my appointment was made with info about how their

whole system works, what drs specalize in what part of the body, info

on accomodations, maps of the Washington University Medical School

Campus that the 4 hospitals are located on, the Research Studies that

the 4 drs in the neck & spine area are involved in.........I truly was

blown away. I have recieved more attention from Dr Bridwells since Feb

14th than I recieved from Dr Boachie since August 9th.

Well I hope to be abel to get some sleep.

Love To All,

Diane
