Guest guest
Yes, yes, yes! I was getting a massage every other week until March. My father and father-in-law both were quite ill and any semblance of a routine bit the dust. I get so much relief from hip and shoulder pain that it would be worth it to me to have one every week if I didn't have to drive an hour to do it. Guest guest
: how did you find your therapist? What method of massage? I had an upper body once using " shiatsu " and it was great. Thanks, Melody > Yes, yes, yes! I was getting a massage every other week until March. My > father and father-in-law both were quite ill and any semblance of a routine > bit the dust. Guest guest
Melody, I found her by accident. I just happened to be talking to someone about Beau Rivage Casino and Resort in Biloxi and mentioned that I had spent a day at their spa and had " the works. " We started taling about massage therapy and then she told me about a therapist in Lake ( that's in Louisiana about 50 miles from me).I went for a therapeutic massage and that closed the deal. Like I said I got real busy and have not been able to go , BUT I'm resolving that today. I'm going to call for an appointment and get back on track. We started building a new house two days ago so I know I'm going to need to destress big time! After this talk about massages, when I went to town yesterday I just had to get a pedicure and get my feet happy. I really was lucky. I walked in and asked if they had time to give a pedicure and they did! No appointment! C
Guest guest
Hi everyone. We just got past snow & ice... unusual in my area (Seattle) so it was quite the event. My RA doesn't seem to change too much with the cold... except a little extra knee pain. OK, I have a couple questions that I hope people have had personal experience with... I spend a lot of time studying, therefore hunching forward and was plannng on splurging on a massage for a very sore back. However, I read a past post on how the pain got worse afterwards. I haven't had a massage since being diagnosed and wonder if others have had good/bad experience?? I love sports/deep tissue massage. Bad idea?? OK.. another thing. I've had pretty bad flare ups in my knee for the past week and the only time it seemed to get better is when I actually was in a situation where I HAD to run (don't worry, nothing scary) and then the next morning the knee was better. After a normal day... back to hurting. I know hard running isn't recommended but has anyone else experienced anything like this?? I'm not sedative because I coach gymnastics so I do get daily exercise. Hmmm... I guess walking is bad for me... running good. Can't you just picture me sprinting everywhere I go? Ha ha.... I've always been opposite of everything! OK... thanks, sorry about the novel. I hope that those of you hurting get some respite.
Guest guest
Hi , This is Steph in VA. We got snow and ice too, about an inch of accumulation. I had only gotten a handful of massages before I got diagnosed with arthritis. Since being diagnosed I have had more. You're right -- it does hurt a little after a massage. For me, the hurts lessens after a day or so, which is sped along by drinking lot of water for 24 hours hours after the massage. It makes sense that it would -- I am generally horribly tense and my stress usually manifests itself in knots in my back, shoulders & neck. Massage smoothes out the knots and releases the toxins that caused the knots. Even though I hurt afterwards, it's worth it. Take care, Steph in VA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>Hi everyone.
