Guest guest
, My son went up to 1/4 tablet of Paxil about 2 weeks ago. We are seeing occasional increased hyperactivity, but not severe (last night he could not stop climbing - he was walking across the back of the couch, jumping from couch to chair and back, etc.) Dr. Goldberg told me that hyperactivity was a possible side-effect of the Paxil. I would suggest contacting him or sending an update - maybe he will reduce the dosage. Good luck! (also in Chicagoland)
Guest guest
Yes we have recently had a very rough patch with our son and Paxil. He was fine on 1/4 tablet but then when we increased to 1/2 tablet he started to become extremely hyperactive, mouthing things, getting in dangerous things and seemed to lack feelings of fear and pain. We informed Dr Goldberg who then said to drop back down to 1/4 and he settled back down again. Just this week he increased the dose to 1/3 tablet and after an initial couple of hyper days he is now settled and seems to be doing quite well. Through all of the bad days on the 1/2 tablet he still seemed to be greatly improving with speech and language, so it seemed as though improvement came at a price. Fortunately he is now settling and still improving so we are continuing on. Cherie throwing things and pouring water, plz help > > Date: Sun, 24 Feb 2002 06:50:05 -0800 (PST) > > > > hai all, > > Congratulations to all those whose kids are improving. > > I can feel the happincess > > . > > I have some doubts, andplz let me know if u can answer > > me. > > We started GFCF and medcine since one year, his > > response is good. > > But some behaviours are not changing like throwing > > things andpouring water. > > can u plz suggest me wat I can do. > > thanks in advance > > swapna. > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________ > >
Guest guest
WE did experience more " behaviors " while on paxil. Dr G switched Nick (also 5) to Celexa. It is working very well. Suzanne From: " Stillman " <courtneycns@...> Reply- < > Subject: HELP with behavior! Date: Tue, 26 Feb 2002 21:33:09 -0600 I am going nuts. I don't know if this has anything to do with the protocol, we are now up to 1/2 tablet of paxil per day. Now my daughter ( age 5) is pulling the wallpaper off her wall, is pulling the mattress off her bed, is dumping clothes out of drawers, is dumping puzzle pieces, taking everything out of the refrig or cabinets. she is having tantrums at school. She used to be so sweet. Alos, since December, she has been gettign earaches, cough , cold. A lot of germs are going aroudn Illinois right now and she is picking up every illness that enters her classroom. Prior to this she was rarely ill. Has anyone else experienced these types of behavior on paxil? Losing it in chicagoland, throwing things and pouring water, plz help > Date: Sun, 24 Feb 2002 06:50:05 -0800 (PST) > > hai all, > Congratulations to all those whose kids are improving. > I can feel the happincess > . > I have some doubts, andplz let me know if u can answer > me. > We started GFCF and medcine since one year, his > response is good. > But some behaviours are not changing like throwing > things andpouring water. > can u plz suggest me wat I can do. > thanks in advance > swapna. > > > > __________________________________________________ >
