How do you tell if they have arthritis?

I think of this new interest in checking out other people's knuckles

as much like when you get a new car and you're suddenly very tuned

into cars...and when you see when on the road just like yours, you

feel a little surge of...kinship?

Yes, Sierra..I know I do...but usually only " inspect " those who are

sitting in the waiting room at the rheumy's office..not in the markets

or elsewhere..I figure anyone who is going to see a rheumy prolly has

arthritis somewhere in their body..Though, I hvae been too chicken to

inquire as to how long they have had the illness and what meds they

are on..

You could break the ice by asking if they are there because of arthritis. Or you could say that you are there because of RA, what about them? Just starting a conversation will usually make it easy to steer it in any direction you want it to go. Good luck and God bless.
