Guest guest
Okay, everybody talks about how " excruciating " they feel after workouts - and I'm just not experiencing that. Yeah, I can tell I've worked out for a couple days afterwards, but it doesn't hurt. Am I going off-track somehow? I'll bet it's cuz I'm relying mostly on machines. Guest guest
Machines are fine. As long as you get the intensity and on the last set continue to lift until you can't lift one more time, you are doing fine. the indicator you are looking for is an increase in the poundages and/or reps you are lifting. Soreness is a by-product of the microtears and differs with each individual and over time. As you continue to develop your mind-muscle connection you will get closer to the true maximum you can lift with your current muscles. Bill describes the 10 as an out of body experience where you are lifting with your mind when your body is saying no you don't. I'll admit to hitting what I would consider 9's more than 10's, but every now and then I really hit a 10 (as I did with biceps on a preacher bench on Wednesday). Nevertheless my goal is always a 10. I don't make myself feel bad if I don't go over the top in intensity, but I still push myself hard. It took me three rounds before I started feeling soreness in my back muscles, so really, everyone is different and you learn how to push yourself by pushing yourself. Just some thoughts. kit
Guest guest
Suzanne, Where do you live? Everyone here in Northern Utah is doing BFL too! 5:30 AM use to be a great time to get in the gym, now it's flooded at 5:30 AM. Sometimes I get frustarted trying to keep the flow to my workouts, but I have to remind myself that I too was once where they are now and I wouldn't feel good if I was thought of as "in the way". Guest guest
Cheryl, I go to the Gold's Gym in Spanish Fork. I used to go to the one in Provo on 9th East. I live in Springville. Guest guest
Hey Andy!! I was in the same boat. Get off those machines and get on with the free weights brother. It is a world of difference and only takes a few movements to do several muscles.. By this I mean you get a multitude of benefits. Free weights are were it is at. From the voice of experience... From feeling no pain to feeling it for real now... Let me know how it goes... <Okay, everybody talks about how "excruciating" they feel after workouts - and I'm just not experiencing that.
