First- I am not promoting products or services :)

I just wanted to see if anyone has found any relief in applying herbs

or any kind of herbal based product to the skin? My father has fibro

and I am trying to create an herbal soap that could help alleviate

the pain. Any comments or ideas would be a big help. :)

Also, if there are any women who are interested in testing the same

soap that I am making for my father, please email me at tara.mason

@charter.net, as I am looking to get a female opinion. It would just

be a small sample and I'm not trying to sell anything.

Thanks,

Tara Mason

Kathy,

My RA factor fluctuates. It can be high one time and low to normal the next. My doc says it just tells him how active the disease is at the time. We also check it when I am in a lot of pain or have a lot of swelling. He is trying to establish a pattern of lab values related to how I feel.

Subject: question

I just found out my RA factor number is now 18. It was 25 last time (3 wks ago). I feel better but I still have a little swelling and carpal tunnel going on. (Oh, normal for this lab is 14 or under as far as RA factor goes) Does anyone know how to interpret this? Do you think it is possible I don't have RA and this was just some kind of a fluke? Or do you think I probably do have RA and my factor is fluctuating? If so, does anyone know why it would fluctuate?

Appreciate your thoughts,

Kath

It is normal for the RA factor to fluctuate, and, in and of itself,

doesn't mean much.

I know the numbers can fluctuate. Also, you can be below 14 and still have RA.

With an RF of 25, you know something is going on.

Oe of the things that makes this disease so challenging for the docs

is that the numbers can change, and don't always tie in to how you

are physically feeling at any given time. Last summer when I was

really uncontrolled and in constant pain my RA factor was normal and

my sed rate (which measures inflammation) was at the low end of

normal. Fortunately my doc goes by how I feel more than by the test

results.
