Guest guest
Hi , Your doctor is right to be suspicious. There are a lot of quacks out there trying to take advantage of people who are so desperate they would do anything to help their child. I used to be one of those parents. I never really believed that my child could get better. He was so bizarre. Most of the things I did were so I would not have guilt later is that I did everything not dangerous to try to help my child. I too was told not to go see Dr. Goldberg by the same professionals who had nothing to offer, not even hope. Thank goodness I was almost as stubborn as my kid and felt the need to check out Dr. Goldberg. We started with Dr. G when my son was almost five. Now my child is fully recovered. He gets almost all " A's " in school, is in all the enriched courses, gets no assistance and his teachers and friends have no idea he was ever diagnosed with Autism. But more important than success in school, he has friends and is happy. I hope you will not listen to those doctors and get your child the help he needs. Please contact me if you want more information. Marcia
Guest guest
Marcia, I know it is different for every child, but was there a particular point in time (or particular medication)when things clicked for your son? We started seeing Dr. G in September and have just begun SSRI's. I'm trying to be patient, but as my son approaches his fifth birthday, I can't help panicking a bit. He is doing very well, but some of the lights are still out. It is so encouraging to hear the stories of recovered children, I was just wondering what worked for you. Thanks,
