some relief

Hi,

I have gotten some relief in the last few days. The RA seems almost

isolated to my ankles and feet. Sometimes it feels like I have real

bad sun burn on my feet on top--strange isn't it? I have used a

whirl pool tub and a portable foot soaking tub -- the water therapy

seems to have helped alot! I am also exercising again. I do yoga!

Yoga Journal has a web site in case some of you are interested in

learning more.

I switched to over the counter naproxen and I am not as nauseated

now. I have another appointment with the primary care doctor on

Tuesday. I am not able to get a rheumatologist appointment before

January. But right now, I don't feel like I need much medicine--not

sure why this is happening, but very greatful for less pain. I have

also cut down on eating all types of meat and switched to tea

instead of coffee.

Maybe my reduction in pain won't last, but I am grateful for a good

day today!!!

-you didn't say where your RA is or if it just hurts all over

but I wanted to caution you about using heat near your belly since

you are pregnant. Stay away from heating pads, therabead pads, or

real hot baths involving your abdomen until you consult with your

OB/GYN. Heat on the abdomen can sometimes bring about early labor.

There are plenty of single mothers out there and you will be a great

mom and in most all communities of today there is alot of support

for single moms!!!

Just want to bump this and add that I've now been doing great for one

year!

Are you on systemic steroids or just inhalers? It sounds like your doctor determined that you have fungal sinisitis, right?--Tiborshawscope <shawscope@...> wrote: > > Hello, I have suffered from Samter's for about 15 years. Interesting article, thanks for sending it.

I was on erythromycin as a teenager to treat acne, I think for a year or so.

What’s funny is that was the last time I was on antibiotics until I was 30ish

and got my first sinus infection… I’ve lost track of the

number of times I’ve been on antibiotics in the last year! I didn’t

have asthma and my allergies were not as bad then as they are now, so I have no

idea if it had any affect on those things. But now I would certainly have

issues taking antibiotics long-term, as lately they can screw up my stomach and

they definitely screw up my female cycle! Not a good thing. Plus after

having an allergic reaction to Avelox, I am paranoid now of taking any new

antibiotic. So while it is an interesting concept, I have a feeling it might

not help a lot of us.

Re: Some Relief

I

found an article which talks about use of clarithomycin long-term in

asthma, nasal polyps, etc.

http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=394343

I would have some concerns about it -- but I did not see in this

article where they address concerns of it. For one thing, I would

wonder about bacteria developing resistance, which is scary. But for

me I just would have major problems with candida if I was on

antibiotics all the time. I can't even take them for a few days. I

get so sick and have such terrible infections from them.

Any thoughts?

Lori
