Guest guest
We will be seeing Dr. Goldberg for the first visit on March 27. I have a few questions that I hope you might help me with? 1. Is the blood work normally done at the first visit? 2. How long does it take to find out if your child actually has once the blood work is done? 3. I have heard from some people that they did not continue as it was so expensive. We have Blue Cross insurance, so can anyone give me an idea of what " so expensive " really means, are we talking about $10,000., $50,000??? 4. We live in Petaluma, CA, is there a local group near my area? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide. Medeiros
Guest guest
Hi , We have Blue Cross Ins. Our costs are the normal co-pays for office visits, labwork, and prescriptions. They also paid on the Spectscan my younger son had. (our cost $-0-) I would say the biggest expense is the prescription co-pays. It seems cheap to me now because we used to have both of our boys to pay for. Now it's just the younger one. Guest guest
Hi , We have BCBS as well. To get paid by then it has to be PPO. All plans are different, we paid $36 for the visit (normal cost is $450). We did not get explanation from blood work yet, I do not think it will be big cost as well. We have very special prescription plan, not from BCBS, so all drugs do not cost much and they even pay for very unusual things. Drugs through BCBS might be expensive (from my pervious experience) Good luck Regina Appt with Dr. Goldberg >Date: Fri, 15 Mar 2002 22:51:43 -0000 > >We will be seeing Dr. Goldberg for the first visit on March 27. >I have a few questions that I hope you might help me with? > >1. Guest guest
Dear shelley, > > 1. Is the blood work normally done at the first visit? Yes, it can be. Much of it can be done through your local lab at home and billed to your insurance > 2. How long does it take to find out if your child actually has > once the blood work is done? Dr. goldberg will use your family history, childs med records and physical exam coupled with the bloodwork to make that determination. But, You will usually have a good idea one way or another right after your first visit. > 3. I have heard from some people that they did not continue as it > was so expensive. If you have a PPO. they will pay. we went to hearing with our HMO, and they paid. He is very reasonable compared to most clinics etc treating these disorders. We now have to pay cash again as my daughter's HMO was switched by her birth father. It can get expensive if you don't have prescription coverage. > 4. Guest guest
You asked about the cost of seeing Dr. G: Your office visits should be covered, but not the phone consultations. I also have BCBS PPO and these are not covered. The cost is about $145 every month or so.
