Keep a pain and joint diary. What hurts, how much, weather, what you did that was unusal, any medication you took, and when from now until you go to see him. That way you have something for him to review and it should give him an idea of what affects you and your joints. Also write up a short medical history for you and your family - does/did your grandparents, parents, or other family have arthritis or other auto-immunity disease and any other diseases you have/had and any medicine you take uncluding over the counter ones.

Okay. I will. Also, does anyone have some good questions to ask him? I’ve never met him, but my main (until this morning) problem was joint pain (sometimes swelling, sometimes not) that would move from joint to joint. It could be one it could be several joints. Last night and through the night it was just my right knee which was bearable. This morning started out pretty good and I was enthusiastic, but by mid morning it’s like my collarbone area hurts like the dickens. Now, my hip also. When taking a deep breath it hurts. Hurts to reach up for something, etc. I had gotten a stomach virus (kids gotta love the way they share stuff) early Friday morning through about dinner time on the same day. All that time I didn’t hurt in my joints. As the stomach symptoms subsided the joint pain returned. Man, I’m a mess. Lol I just hope he can shed some light.

Hi I was on celebrex and a lot of other tablets like that.I found the naproxen to be the best of the lot.Ask your doc to give u a try on them Celebrex didnt do anything at all for meJoyce

Lynette,

you offered some good categories for the pain, etc. I didn’t think about the weather. His office sent me about 8-10 pages for info so I’m working

on that. Recently started a

journal for it, but it’s usually really painful to type that in. Writing is even worse. Just to throw me off course my collarbone

hurts big time today. Guess it

didn’t get the memo that I was just having joint pain.

Best wishes,

Lynette

Maybe you can get some tips from http://www.arthritisinsight.com/medical/new/ that has some information for people just starting with RA. God bless.
