Guest guest
Debbie, I also cut and crush and have the same situation - not exactly the same size, but fairly close. I have not found that it makes a difference behaviorally and my pharmacist says it doesn't matter because it is a small dosage to begin with. I am not aware that pharmacies will cut the pills for you but they might. I know compounding pharmacies will make a liquid suspension for you for a price. My son takes Paxil and I know it is available commercially in a liquid suspension form; maybe Celexa is too. Guest guest
Friendly Hills Pharmacy in Whittier CA. 562 693 3791 will compound to exact dosages - and ship to anywhere by UPS (including international). Ask for Dennis. Dr G recommended them to us. In the end, it doesn't matter if your pill cutting isn't accurate because over a period of time, the correct dosages will be administered. These medicines, especially SSRI's work over a period of time. Dosages for SSRIs I wanted to know how many parents have a pharmacy cut up the pills (for SSRI's for example) so the exact amount of medicine is administered. Sometimes when I'm trying to cut up the small pills on my own (with a pill crusher), it seems that some of the pills may be smaller or larger than others. Does it make that much of a difference when giving it to your child? Thanks!
