The Research Institute and Parent Coalition Announces the Following

Event!!

NATIONAL VIDEO CONFERENCE FEBRUARY 9th

Set-Up a Site in your area!!

This event will start early to accommodate potential East Coast sites, most

likely 8-9AM. This will be a full-day event ( 7-8 hours) with the hope that

additional members of the Scientific and Medical Advisory board will confirm

their participation shortly. In addition, there may be a Speech, OT and or

Behavior Therapist presenting with A Round Table QA/Discussion session to

complete the day. I will post the updated line-up as it takes shape.

I would like to make this a wide-spread event with as many sites as

possible. Many sites have he technical capability to participate in this

type of event. A commercial, retail type rate for this could range from $

350 to 700 PER HOUR but I have been getting fairly receptive good response

to the request for a discounted rate for our cause, in fact our primary

location has waived their Facility Fee and our costs will only be the set-up

and transmission costs to the Bridging site! Remote sites can charge a small

fee to attend this presentation. This fee is intended to offset our costs

and any amount over costs must be donated to the Coalition. This will

allow all attendee Fees to be considered donations and therefore will make

them Tax-Deductible!!

(Quick Explanation: There is a central Hub/Bridge Site that all locations

connect to. The signals then get pushed back and forth between each location

and the bridge site. Locations can connect to the bridge via either ISDN

Dial-Up or a T1 internet connection) Each site will be responsible for it's

own location set-up fee and transmission costs.

The types of location that have been giving positive response are:

Community Colleges

Universities

Hospitals/Medical Facilities

Public TV Stations

Private Foundations with a Health/Children Focus

Community Centers

Corporations with Conferencing Facilities That Might be receptive

Those with a health/medical/pharma focus

Hi-Tech Companies

Companies Who have a PR presence focused on community outreach

At this point we have locations being set-up in the following locations:

Tucson, AZ

Central Texas

Boston, MA

I have heard from other cities but have received no further communication

from those individuals. In addition, I am working on the possibility of

Web-Casting this event, if possible. Because of the cost, web-casting will

be have to be a fee event for the individuals who want to participate. I

will have more details in the next 2-3 days.
