Guest guest
Rifat, Don't get despondent before you get there - the long wait often causes doubts - especially as you look at everything going on around you and what other people do. People do move on for a variety of reasons - this is a very difficult and often very tricky process right now using currently available medicines, and made even more tricky because every child is different. Dr Goldberg's blood work-up is the most comprehensive, and what might not seem too off range at first, will later become more apparent with subsequent bloodwork - it changes and reveals a healthier system as time goes on - allergy levels should drop, titres for viruses reduce and even go to negative - my son's autoimmune result (ANA) tested negative only 2 weeks ago - this is great news - even the local Pathologist at our lab here caught this as well - I rang to double check the result! The Neurospect is so important, and in my son's case revealed why in some patients it can be more tricky - under perfusion and over perfusion in some areas - very careful adjustment of SSRI's and others meds like Wellbutrin needed. The rehabilitative education needed is also vital, and his needs change as he gets healthier, and changes. We as parents are continually learning - trying to keep ahead of our son. He is currently achieving new heights in attention and focus, sociability, cheekiness, and just being a 6 yo! I'm glad Trina has re-contacted the group - for all of us with kids, no matter what route we ultimately follow, the exchange and sharing of what we are pioneering here is the most important, Hang in there- you've waited months and months - only one to go! All the best and good luck on that trip! Re: Immunovir (Inosine), Ampligen? Guest guest
Ri, While I can't put things nearly as eloquently as has I can tell you that the vast majority of Dr. G's practice have made huge gains. I'm very much a " glass half empty " kind of person, and even though I have dozens of " success stories " on file and have met some of these wonderful kids in person and seen for myself how well they are doing, I still get bummed by stories of children who have not done well with the protocol. But I have to remind myself those stories are few and far between and that there are always some people with illnesses who do not repond to treatment. In Trina's sons case it may be that he is one of the ones who needs more effective immune modulators that are not yet available to our children. That is why it so important for us all to continue to promote for greater awareness and to raise the funds desperately needed to get these improved immune modulators into trials. PS Trina, I believe I once asked Dr. G about Ampligen in the " ask Dr. G section " , I can't remember his reponse. I'll look it up and get back to you.
