Guest guest
-- Thank you very much for your responses. I have gotten some good suggestions. I'm not sure I could get a religious exemption. How would I go about it? I will check with our son's pediatrician about a " medical exemption " . I'd like to know more about how we could go about it. Which test(s) would show immunity to DPT or MMR?

Guest guest
My son sees a DAN doctor.... on our county form (land) there is a medical waiver section. My doctor wrote " contra-indication " and they never questioned it. Shots for kindergarten > > -- > Thank you very much for your responses. I have gotten some good > suggestions. Guest guest
Getting exemptions on shots isn't actually limited to religious or medical exemptions. Your child is not property of the state therefore you have final say. They may try to tell you that they can't register your child without a recognized exemption but if you push them on the matter in many places they'll just have you sign something stating that your child isn't immunized for personal reasons. Good luck, Shots for kindergarten -- Thank you very much for your responses. I have gotten some good suggestions. I'm not sure I could get a religious exemption. How would I go about it? There is a cheaper/easier way to go about this....... I too am in California and just wanted to respond to your post. In California the school cannot require you to vaccinate your child. You can be exempt from vaccines for 1) medical reasons, 2) religious reasons or 3) philosophical reasons. I have chosen the latter as my means of sending my partially unvaccinated children to school. There is a place for you to sign on the back of the large blue California School Immunization card stating you choose not to vaccinate your child due to philosophical reasons. The response of the school is that they are required to admit your child, but if an outbreak for an illness your child is not vaccinated for occurs, your child will not be allowed to attend school during that time frame. The school acts like it is a big issue, but I have had no problems admitting any of my children to public school and none of them have ever not been able to attend due to any illness epidemics.
