Hey, girl, I think about it as a

small price to pay for the gift of having a child. If it never gets

flat without surgery, well then, so be it. :)

I certainly agree with that, I would never trade the baby just to have a

falt tummy, just was curious.

Thanks for the info and great job on your challenge too.

Des,

Here's my 2 cents on these subjects. First of all, let me just say

that I have an 11-year-old daughter who I had by c-section and also

breastfed for 11 months. Everything I have researched about calories

needed for pregnancy and breastfeeding is that you need only 300

cal/day extra for pregnancy and 300-500 cal/day extra for

breastfeeding. Don't ask me why it takes more to feed a baby than it

takes to grow one, because that has never made sense to me! LOL

So, what Kit said about shaving approx 250 cal/day off would most

likely keep you within the " safe " range that will not affect your

breastmilk.

Now, on the c-section/surgery question, I think that everyone is

different. Some people may bounce back just fine, some people may

require surgery to get rid of the belly. I know from my own

experience that my tummy still has what I call the " hangover " (which

is entirely different from the kind you get from too many

margaritas). So, it's still stickin' out a bit, but it *has* gotten

much smaller and flatter. I have confidence that I should be able to

get it pretty flat by the time I am done with this challenge in

April. It's never gonna be concave like it was prior to baby, but I

will be fine with a " gently rounded " belly, as opposed to what it

used to be!!!

Just stick with it and you WILL see a change, it will just take a bit

longer because of the 2 c-sections. Hey, girl, I think about it as a

small price to pay for the gift of having a child. If it never gets

flat without surgery, well then, so be it. :) It's good to hear

that you have someone you can trust to babysit while you go to the

gym. Good luck to you, I am sure you will do great!
