Guest guest
Brushing is a sensory activity generally initialized and supervised by an occupational therapist. They use a small, soft brush to brush arms, legs, hands, feet, and back--never the stomach. There is a specific technique to the brushing itself. IT MUST BE DONE CORRECTLY OR COULD CAUSE EVEN BIGGER PROBLEMS! It works well for some kids with sensory defensiveness. It should only be done under the supervision of an occupational therapist or someone trained in the method.
