Guest guest
Millie,I just posted with a suggestion for " prepping " your pIR unit to get the temperature to more appropriate levels before starting.I would say that in most cases 15 minutes will be plenty to start with someone this young. You might want to keep an eye on the IR temperature graph as well. If it shows some ability to rise, then starts down and the client can't turn it, that's often a good indicator that the brain is toast, and you can stop. I don't think there's any rule of thumb for what DVD to use. Whatever keeps his I/R rising, I guess.pete-- Van Deusenpvdtlc@... http://www.brain-trainer.comUSA 678 224 5895BR 47 3346 6235The Learning Curve, Inc. Pete had responded to a post several months ago and highly suggested HEG training for a 5 year old as opposed to EEG training. I agree HEG would be a good option for this youngster and have a pIR HEG. Before I start, I have the following questions: 1. I don't want to over train, so what would be a good length for training? 2. Often with pIR HEG, the temperature continues to rise after the baseline is initially set. It is my understanding that the training actually begins when the client plateaus and has to keep above the baseline and to stop when they fall below and can't bring it back up. If I was limiting training to 10 minutes, when does training time start? 3. I would like to use a DVD for training and for a boy with limited interests (trains and planes), is it best to use a DVD he likes to watch (over and over) or find one he hasn't seen? I appreciate everyone's suggestions. All the best, Millie
Guest guest
Thanks Pete, I will try the armpit prepping. I did change designs to the ’11 TLC HEG and noticed the difference in the scale made a difference in the feedback. Like you said, you can’t see the change as easily as it appears to be a flat line, but the feedback was increased.
