Hi Doris. My son has been on Lamisol for 4 weeks now. We switched him

from Diflucan to this. WOW. What a big difference. He used to have

eczema really bad, even with Difucan, on the back of his arms and on

his cheeks. Now the eczema is almost completely gone and he has been

making even better progress since this change. We had a dye-off (I

think). For almost 3 weeks. It was hard, but well worth it. Let me

know if I can be anymore help to ya.E-mail me if you want. I'll be

gone for the holiday week-end but back on Monday. :0)

Hi Doris,

From an old post, you mentioned Dr. G changed your son from Diflucan to Lamisil.

We have also just done the same thing. How is it going with your son? Others

mentioned their kids had exzema and foot fungus, but my son doesn't have

anything like that, did yours? Did you ever get your insurance to pay for it?

We have BC/BS of IL, who have refused to pay. It's quite expensive, so I hope

it is worth it. What kind of response is your son having. Thank you for any

info. KathyP

hello!

I have a few questions

1- who out there is using lamisol ?

2- Anything I need to know that the pkg insert doesn't mention ?

3- has anyone gotten their health insurance carrier to pay for it ?

esp BCBS ?

Dr G wants to switch from diflucan to lamisol.

It's $170 for a month's dosage.

BCBS refuses to pay - they say monthly blood cultures need to be

done in order to prove there is yeast before a prescription will

be accepted.

Now is already getting blood taken every month to monitor the diflucan

and etal.

But this obviously isn't enough for BCBS.

's Ped and allergist both have agreed to write letters supporting

the use of lamisol.

Thank you!

Lamisol contains lactose ... as does Nizoral

Diflucan does not.

Now, with that done and said, is highly sensitive to casein.

He has always done better on diflucan than on the other two.

But he's never adversely reacted to Lamisol or Nizoral as he usually does

with anything containing casein ....

on the subject of music, takes music lessons. we thought it

might help his auditory sensitivity.

His current choice is 'Jesus music'.

He went through Aerosmith 'Big Ones' for quite a while ....

then Mozart ... then country.

Now it's the local religious station ...
