I've not been on it but my understanding is that it is a fairly old and weak RA drug with fewer side effects for most people than some of the other RA drugs. I have heard that it is sometimes prescribed for relatively mild RA but not for more severe cases unless other medicines fail. I'm sorry I don't have any better information but this link might help you. http://www.arthritisinsight.com/medical/meds/ God bless.

Has anyone had any experience with Azulfidine (generic: Sulfazine). My doc just rx'd it for me and I haven't seen much about it.Thanks!Faye

Hello, I have been taking Azulfidine EN. It is a DMARD (disease modifying anti-rheumatic drug). While it is normally prescribed for mild to moderate cases of RA, it is frequently given for moderate to severe cases of Reactive arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, other spondlatrophies (like AS), and inflammatory arthritis. I've been on Azulfidine EN for 4 years. The only side effect for me is it turns my urine orange. To prevent toxicity, I have to drink water/juice, etc. until my urine turns back to its normal color.

Take care,
