Guest guest
A shuttle is ground transportation from the airport to your destination. Sometimes a hotel will provide transportation from the airport to their lodging. Sometimes you will have to arrange for one of the private transportation services to take you there (not a taxi and a lot cheaper). Your other option is to rent a car. mjh ps elevated levels can suggest active viral issues even though not HHV6 In a message dated 6/28/02 6:39:02 AM Eastern Daylight Time, kayarshad@... writes: > Secondly compose yourself and dont laugh as a have a > strange question. here in the UK we dont have the > shuttle. i was told by the hoptwl i booked in to > Tarzana Inn that the best way to get would be the > shuttle. now what is the shuttle ? where do i catch > it? where will it drop me off? would it not be simple > to catch a taxi? >
Guest guest
Hi Maybe you or anyone else can help with a couple of queries i have? first by daughters bloodwork results have come back i cant really see any thing dramatic, she is within the normal range for HHV6 i understand that HHv 6 is supposed to be causing the trouble in these children? does that mean that Dr G cannot help my daughter ( I am seeing him next month. although her EBV IGG was positive does that mean she has a viral issue. has anyone had similiar results and were seen and treated by DrG. Secondly compose yourself and dont laugh as a have a strange question. here in the UK we dont have the shuttle. i was told by the hoptwl i booked in to Tarzana Inn that the best way to get would be the shuttle. now what is the shuttle ? where do i catch it? where will it drop me off? would it not be simple to catch a taxi? Sorry for ridiculous Questions but i am seeing Dr G soon and am getting very worried about silly things and well just worried. Guest guest
Rifat, HHV6 is one of a number of herpes viruses - others include CMV, EBV, HSV!, 2, etc The HHV6 levels need not be too high, for it to be causing an issue - Dr G told me today it actually " smoulders' away! He also explained to us today a little more about the herpes virus issue and the " retro-virus " which can be activating the immune system as well. But with a +ve EBV too it is likely something is going on. Our son had a mild HHV6 titre and positives to EBV and CMV. There are other issues like CD4/CD8 ratios and low or high CD 56 (NK cells). The allergy panel is important as well. You really need Dr G to interpret all of the results together. " Shuttle " is a very " US centric " expression (slowly gaining world recognition!) to describe bus, plane or train services that run around the clock between points on an as come as served basis. The Shuttles at LA airport are large minibuses - blue in color that generally serve hotels - they will drop off at one, and then the next and so on. Advantage is that they are a lot cheaper then a cab or limo, disadvantage is that it can take longer to get to your destination because you are stopping on the way. They are right outside the terminal building - across the car pickup lane - ie next lane over. I think there is an info counter in the terminal that can help. I'm not sure how you know which one to get - the hotel will know. A cab is an alternative - done this before - costs about $US 65-70 through to Tarzana-Woodland Hills. A limo (sedan car not a stretch) will cost about $80. I can recommend an excellent service that we use - after a 20 hour flight all we want to do is get to the hotel!!!, so from the UK - guess that's about 12hrs - then you will want to do the same! Understand the worry - travelling such a long distance with a kid to an unfamiliar place - can be daunting. We are preparing for another trip in November and are getting appointments lined up too. Love to hear how you find the Tarzana Inn, Best wishes and travel safe, Re: Re: EFA sources > > > For 18 months I've been getting the 16 oz. bottle > (about $8.25) of organic > flaxseed oil from Vitamin World and although not > refrigerated in the store, > I > have not had a problem. Guest guest
Rifat, Our son had nothing test positive on the viral tests either, and the protocol has helped him immensely so far. Dr. Goldberg explained that if there is a virus present over a period of time, the body sometimes gives up fighting it and stops producing antibodies (he compared this to the theory of why allergy shots work... if you give someone a little of what they are allergic to over a period of time, their body stops recognizing it as an allergen and stops fighting it). He said that as a child's body begins to become healthier, the body may kick in and start fighting the virus again... and producing antibodies (and then you could find them in the blood work). I'm not sure whether Dr. G thinks all of the children are virally involved or not. Our son really did not have anything that really stood out in his first round of blood tests except his high antigliadin IGG (which I think comes back high on most kids). Other things were maybe a tiny bit low or a tiny bit high but not dramatic. After a few rounds of blood work we found that our son's white blood cell count was consistently low (sometimes just on the low end of normal) and Dr. G said that made him think there might be an underlying viral thing going on and we recently started a trial of Valtrex. Dr. Goldberg told us at the first appointment that our son was a " tricky " case but that he expected to help him, and he has. He sees so much more in the blood work than we do... trends, etc. Absolutely do not forget a tape recorder to tape the appointment. Our appointment was 90 minutes long, so bring extra tape (and use new batteries!). After the appointment, my head was swimming with all of the information pertinent to my child. It was incredibly valuable having that tape to listen to when I returned home. We also tape every phone consultation (of course, we ask permission every time). It's really hard to listen and take notes and watch your child at the same time with the volume of information you will be receiving. Warning... there is not a lot in the office to play with... there were two arcade style (free!) video games that my son loved, but nothing else that I saw. You might want to have a few surprises to pull out of your purse. Best of luck... I hope that you have wonderful results. We all go through a lot trying to decide what is best for our children and I would choose seeing Dr. Goldberg as #1 on my list after seeing what he has done for our sweet boy. Guest guest
It's JOJO's limo service. You can email to and JOJO .... JOJOLIMO@... or PH: 1-323 - 935 5656 A Lincoln Town Car (large sedan) LAX to Woodland Hills pickups are $85.00, and Woodland Hills to LAX pickups are $75.00. If you are staying in Tarzana it might be a bit less. If you wish, you may pay by check or credit card. JO JO himself sometimes drives, he is really good, or his drivers are very nice and helpful. They will meet you inside the terminal, just after you are cleared customs. Guest guest
Hi All Just got back from seeing Dr G for the first time. What can i say? I am very very impressed!!! As you are all aware i was having doubts and worried whether he wouild treat my child (yesterday diagnosed as autistic). He told me that she definitely fitted the nids protocol and he put her on Valtrex. she has been on it for a week and a half. so far no die off, but had tummy aches for the first three days and kept banging her head as if it hurts. now she is abit calmer (as she was very hyper)actually played with her jigsaws for couple of seconds which is a big thing. Any body out there having doubts dont he is just ,no words to describe him, just wonderful he listened to me and explined everything to me telling me i knew my daughter better than the doctors and to trust my feelings. I also did a spectscan as i was going from the UK and did not want anything missing. Tarzana Inn was wonderful very understanding towards a hyper child. I just wanted to thank everyone especially Logan Falls and for encouraging me to keep the appointment when i had doubts. i will never regret it no matter what. Guest guest
Rifat, your post brought tears to my eyes. Both because the trip was such a success, and because it so saddens me that you had to come nearly half-way around the globe for help. I pray that it won't be long until there are doctors in the UK and throughout the world. Best of luck to you and your precious little girl!
