This is from Dr. McCandless (Children With Starving Brains) who is pioneering using LDN with kids with autism. It is being shared with her permission.

I have a group of children with Crohn's as well assome adults now on LDN (besides hundreds of ASDchildren); all are doing well and all have been weanedfrom the prednisone needed before the LDN. I routinelydo a stool analysis and organic acid analysis(required for the children, optional for the adults)before I start LDN, and then treat the almostubiquitous pathogen colonization (clostridia or yeastor both plus usually other dysbiotic flora) along withstarting to wean off prednisone and starting the LDN,all at the same time. Most are only on LDN after thatinitial course of anti-bacterial/anti-yeast treatment, with recommendations for natural anti-bacterials formaintenance if diarrhea re-occurs. (often followingdietary excesses/infractions). The inflammation that accompanies Crohn's is an idealmucosal environment for chronic pathogen infestation, and though LDN is magical for Crohn's, I believe itshould be preceded/accompanied by treatment for theusually long-standing pathogen infections to be giventhe best chance to work.
