Guest guest
Steve, etc. My son is not yet a patient of Dr. Goldberg's, but he's been on the gluten/casein free diet, plus selectiveness with artificial additives (Fiengold) since about last October, with occasional rule-breaking. And he's been a picky eater for years... still is so far. Maybe 10-12 different items he'll eat/drink. I give his liquid vitamins in a pear juice/water mix. I used Poly Vi Sol (made by Enfamil, purchase over the counter in the vitamin section of most grocery/discount stores) but have switched to a brand I purchase through our chiropractor because it has less additives/artificals in it. He does have significant regression when he's sick. Bangs his head on the wall, runs circles around stationary objects, and more screaming tantrums than usual. He hasn't hit is head or ran circles around things since the diet change. And the tantrums are fewer and fewer between now. So, yes, there's a big difference when he's sick! Immune system over-load I suppose... - Reality lies beyond the horizon.... Hello Everyone , I am new to the group and in the process of preparing the paperwork for Dr. Goldberg to review. I was curious if anyone has experienced a couple of the items my son Blake has. He is PDD-NOS and has a real sensory issue relating to food. He is 4 and will only eat smooth baby food, potato chips, sugar cookies and loves French fries. He only drinks water and watered downed apple juice. We have tried to get him to eat other items but he refuses. I am excited about the Goldberg plan but if it relies on the diet I do not know how we will do it. Also I am curious if anyone's child severely regresses when they get a cold or get sick. Guest guest
thanks for your response. The change in the behavior when sick is mainly why I think it just may be related to the immune system. stay in touch and let me know how things are going for you. Guest guest
I would love to know what brand of vitamins you are using now instead of the Poly vi Sol. I was reading the ingredients and noticed it contains caramel color which may contain gluten. Guest guest
Our liquid vitamin is by Metagenics and is called " Mycelized Children's Multi-Vitamin. " We purchase them through our chiropractor and it's $15.50 a bottle, I believe. It's right about the same size as the Poly Vi Sol (1 FL OZ), and with the squeeze/dropper measuring cap, too. I found their website www.metagenics.com It lists distributors for different regions, but nothing about purchasing that I could see. You might have to buy through a professional, like a local chiropractor office, I'm not sure. But you could start by contacting the distributor for your area... Hope that helps. -Care Reality lies beyond the horizon.... > > > Hello Everyone , I am new to the group and in the process of preparing the > paperwork for Dr. Goldberg to review. Guest guest
Dr G actually recommends Poly-Vi-Sol - except the red ones. Sometimes artificials can be OK - less reactive. Natural ingredients can set the allergy system off. Our son's allergy levels are way down now using Poly-Vi-Sol. Guest guest
My son actually progresses when he is sick especially when running a fever, but not necessarily. He is fighting a slight cold right now and stimming has decreased significantly and is talking more clearly. I believe this is because the cold gives his immune system something to do instead of fighting his nervous system.
Guest guest
Just to share some information. My son had strep throat twice last spring (one after another) and we did not see any changes in his behavior. Each child is different.
