Guest guest
Hmm... I have a 12 week old. Dr. G did not tell me of any " protocol pregnancy " and my OB told me that all foods the mother eats are turned into glucose for the fetus; there are no " fetal allergies. " However, Dr. G did tell me a protocol for a newborn, which is either feed soy formula or, if breastfeeding, mom should not have dairy products and whole wheat, and immunizations should be delayed. Therefore, my daughter drinks Prosobee and has had no vaccinations. Dr. G told me that he has never had another kid in the family folowing this protocol. Maybe he was " tailor making " a protocol for you. protocol when pregnant > I have a question for you Moms out there. > Sorry Dads -you'll have to take a back seat on this one ..... > > I spoke with Dr Goldberg about the " protocol pregnancy " > when we visited him last week. > He said: > - no milk products > - no tropical fruits > - no nuts > - no berries > - keep sugar and sweets to a minimum. > > do any of you have anything to add ? > > He was very reassuring about keeping a 2nd kid from happening > again. Guest guest
I have a question for you Moms out there. Sorry Dads -you'll have to take a back seat on this one ..... I spoke with Dr Goldberg about the " protocol pregnancy " when we visited him last week. He said: - no milk products - no tropical fruits - no nuts - no berries - keep sugar and sweets to a minimum. do any of you have anything to add ? He was very reassuring about keeping a 2nd kid from happening again. My husband has a quirky immune system (GBS in '96 initiated by a cocktail of innoculations, stress and CMV/EB) and my 6.5 yr old son has " autistic like symptoms caused by " . The odds of having another kid is there. Thank you! doris land
Guest guest
Doris - I can't remember if you are doing the gluten free diet with , but I would strongly recommend if he is having issues with it that you get tested for Celiac disease (I can give you the names of the blood tests if you are interested). If positive, going gluten free will certainly help. Having just been diagnosed with it 2 weeks ago, I wish I had know when I was pregnant with Audrey, as well as nursing her. I'm not sure it would have helped, but it would have been worth a try. Also, I would avoid peanuts as well as tree nuts and maybe soy. Maybe you should have the E95 food allergy screen done? Just a thought. The healthier you are I would imagine the better off the baby. Also, you know what to look for now. As soon as Audrey started to show signs of we started her on Dr. Goldberg's protocol. It took only one month for her to regain lost skills, and now, a year later, we are successfully weaning her off the meds. We weren't with Dr. Goldberg when I was pregnant - not until Audrey was 6 months old, so we got a late start in things to avoid. Still, Dr. Goldberg was able to keep her from the long, slow slide that Al experienced. Just some thoughts. Good luck! Guest guest
To give your baby additional advantages during pregnancy and beyond: --If you're not already doing so, start a cardio workout (such as walking) and continue as long as you are able. Fit mothers often have an easier and faster delivery, which can reduce some risk factors. With my last delivery, the OB nurse said that she can tell immediately which mothers are runners/walkers because of how quickly their heart rates recover after each round of contractions. --Consider breastfeeding your baby for at least a year. However, if you choose to do it for less time, your child will still be at an advantage. Breastfed children are less likely to get ear infections, many other illnesses and allergies.
