Guest guest
I don't know who all saw the Public Service Announcement we made last year, but here's the follow up. The PSA won a bronze medal in Worldfest Houston, one of the larger video festivals. Now would be a good time to come forward if you have any good local TV contacts... Guest guest
I'm Glad to hear your dad is doing fine now and I wanted to comment on PSA readings. While used as a measure of possible cancer, it seems the world, the other world outside of the United States, is less enamored with PSA readings than we here in the U.S. When discussing PSA with a Urologist who wanted to do a biopsy on me he admitted that the number 4 so often used as the measure for PSA levels was arbitrary and simply a number to start with. I personally know someone with a PSA under 3 that had a cancerous tumor on his prostate. I have been nursing elevated readings ranging on an average from 6 - 10 for eight years now with classic symptoms of an enlarged prostate. The physical symptoms improved after using Saw Palmetto capsules however nightly tours average 2 times unless I have a lot of fluids in the evening then it is usually 3. While I am sure I would rather have prostate readings at 3, rather than the 11, it might not mean a cancer is in remission but rather that the PSA reading is just lower. What other tests indicate the cancer is in remission? Did your dad have a 'Free PSA' test? That is supposedly a better indicator or did a biopsy show no cancer. Biopsies also leave room for false negatives because unless the part of the prostate with cancer is biopsied...........it can be missed. Using the Saw Palmetto is certainly better than the oft used drugs usually prescribed, drugs that can cause even more problems than an enlarged prostate. Joe C.
