Guest guest
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone found the effectiveness of the anti-fungals to be different. When we started Nizoral we had amazing results (Speech!) and then when we switched to Diflucan even better! THis time we are on Lamisil and it doesn't seem as effective as the others by a long shot. While it is helping with some things he still seems more spacey, more obsessive, and more hyper on the Lamisil. Dr. G and I have been working on this for months now and he just doesn't seem close to where he was while on the Diflucan! Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!! Also, does anyone see Dr. Freeman in Encino?? (pediatric opthalmologist) If so, do you like him and do you have his number?? Anyone have a pediatric endocrinologist in LA/Orange County that they really like and who understands the autism peice???? Thanks in advance! a

Guest guest
Yes. Differences in apparent efficacy of anti-fungals as I understand it, due to different fungal strains they target. Some therefore appear more successful than others on some kids, while the reverse on others. We didn't have much success with Amphotericin B for example, after Diflucan. Have just last month done a switch to Nizoral after 6 mo on Diflucan (haven't used this for a while now) - will see how that goes. Dr Friedman in Encino is superb - did a full development evaluation with our son just over a year ago. His facilities are excellent and with these and his wonderful way of dealing with our kids, was totally captivated and involved in the entire process - and came out with flying colors!
