Guest guest
hello, my son was diagnosed by Dr. Goldberg as having an immune dysfuntion. He is 3 1/2 yrs. old, at about 18mos. started getting chronic ear infections, by age 2 he had stopped speaking. By age 2 and 1/2 he had the fluid from his ears sucked out and had ear tubes put in. After that he has been more happier. He is allergic to cow's milk which is what he was drinking at the time that he started having ear infections. I would like to hear from other parents that may have their chidren going through something similar. also, about the outcomes that these treatments have, wether good or bad. I appreciate your input. thankyou martha
Guest guest
Hi Martha, My son started his ear infections much earlie, about 6 m age. We did not go such a long way as you are with tubes, but he was constantly on antibiotics, and each cold was brining him to ear infection. This stoped completely when I removed all dairy products from his diet. He is gluten free as well ans soy free. No oranges and beef. Kind of pain in the begining, but we got used to it and it is not that bad. He is on antivirals now and makes very good progress in his ABA program. First two weeks on Valtrex were hard, but now everything is fine. We use Famvir now with the same good effect. Regina Let me know if you have orangewhitesky <orangewhitesky@...> wrote: hello, my son was diagnosed by Dr. Goldberg as having an immune dysfuntion. Guest guest
Hi Regina, You mentioned your son doesn't eat oranges or beef. We follow the Feingold diet so I understand the oranges, but what's with the beef? Thanks, Re: is your son on antivirals?? > > Hi Martha, > My son started his ear infections much earlie, about 6 m age. Guest guest
Hi , Well, we do not follow the Feingold diet, he does not eat oranges and other related fruits just because he is allergic to them.(and beef) We thought about Feingold diet, but it doest not look that Simon has issues with " colors " and frankly, he does not like any " colorfull stuff " He eats sometimes bananas and probably one apple a day (I try to give him anyway, something yellow rather then red). Thinking about the issue now, I realized that his diet is pretty " pale " , but I do not know if it helps his condition Good luck Regina Doug McCreary <dmccreary@...> wrote: Hi Regina, You mentioned your son doesn't eat oranges or beef. Guest guest
If they are not to have oranges, I take it that orange juice is forbidden also. My son is on the gluetin free diet and I have replaced those other juices and soda with orange juice calcium fortified. Is this not a good choice. He was lacking calcium and this was a way of him getting it without dairy products. PLEASE ADVISE!!! --- Doug McCreary <dmccreary@...> wrote: > Hi Regina, > You mentioned your son doesn't eat oranges or beef. > We follow the Feingold > diet so I understand the oranges, but what's with > the beef? > Thanks, > > Re: is your son on antivirals?? > > > > > > Hi Martha, > > My son started his ear infections much earlie, > about 6 m age. Guest guest
You do not have to remove oranges unless you child allergic to it (as mine) Sorry for unclear information Regina Sharnita <sharnitap@...> wrote: If they are not to have oranges, I take it that orange juice is forbidden also. Guest guest
Our 3 year old son has almost the exact same history as yours. His first ear infection was at about 6 months ... and after that every little sniffle turned into another one. He wound up with 19 rounds of antibiotics in all. His decent begane right after the chicken pox at about age 18 months. We started him on valrex a week ago and after two days, he popped up in bed one night with a fever and seeming very achy. We nursed him through it using Advil for a day or so. Since then, he has had only mild discomfort and each time we've gone to the advil again. We've had no problem with hyper activity or chronic bad behaviour but we have to strengthen his dose later this week. Our son has been GFCF since January, which has made a huge difference in his overall health and behaviour. We had him tested and learned he is allergic to milk, which explains a lot of what happened over his first 2.5 years. Keep in touch as you progress. > hello, my son was diagnosed by Dr. Goldberg as having an immune > dysfuntion.
