Guest guest
Hi List Friends, I've had a few questions sent to me lately regarding airfare, so I thought I'd post some basic information to the list. There was apparently some confusion about how the program worked, so I hope this can clarify some things. What WFLA actually does is assist families in applying for complimentary travel for the patient child and one caregiver when traveling by air for medical purposes. This is not limited to Dr. Goldberg's practice, although he has made LAX a common request:-). It does, however, have to be for medical purposes. Wings For Little Angels is a program which is part of the non-profit organization Unlocking Autism. WFLA has helped many families receive assistance with their air travel. The program puts applications through to three different airline carriers, and approvals are based on need, flight availability, and the availability of donated frequent flyer miles. Approvals are at the discretion of the individual airline carriers. All three airlines have been extremely generous with our children. In order to apply for travel, families can go to www.unlockingautism.org. Then click on Wings for Little Angels. That will bring you to a form that gives me some basic information about your travel needs. I will contact you by email shortly after receiving this information and let you know what we will need in order to apply. WFLA has no ability to reimburse families for tickets previously purchases. All applications must be submitted in advance. I hope this helps!
