SMR is 12-15 hz, alpha isn't.

to my knowledge, you have a purely sinusoidal wave dominating the raw eeg, if you have a lot of alpha; SMR looks differently. That`s why Berger in the 1920`s was able to discover alpha first in the raw eeg.
