So whoever receives and deposits them can forward that info to Elyse to include that amount to be presented in the Treasurers Report. United Way: I called my local office and the rep confirmed the info gave. We do not have to fill out any paperwork. During their pledge drives, any contributor can fill in our organization's name on the donation form and United Way will locate us from the 501©3 list and fend the funds to . What i need to know, is exactly what name is our 501©3 status under? When I have an " ongoing Fundraisers " committee formed, this item will be assigned for them to distribute United Way contribution info to our members and through direct mailings, etc. Committee Recruitment: I have distributed a general call for fundraising volunteers via the discussion group and a more specific solicitation to the volunteer list that Marcia gave me (You all received a copy of that e-mail). So far Ratzlaff has volunteered to be a member of the ongoing fundraisers committee. her task will be to make and distribute the Ribbons. Upcoming events: and Ratzlaff and I will be manning tables in front of two different Safeway Grocery stores in Santa , CA for 4 hours on Sat June 8th and July 13th. We usually can collect between 150 and 300 dollars each 4 hour shift. Our commitment is to do this once a month and we will also pass this commitment on to the small fundraising committee when it is formed for them to do, and help other members to set up. Grant Writing: Diane has volunteered to work on this committee. I am in the process of conversing with her per telephone. I am collecting and processing the lists of words describing our organization, thanks to all of you. My next step is to go to the library and research all of the possible foundations we are eligible for. Marc, may i have a copy of the grant that you submitted to the CA Dept. of Justice for a template? These duties will be taken over by the grant writing committee as soon as it is formed. Fundraising Ideas: These are the ideas that have been submitted so far by our group: Collection cans put in local businesses Raffle off donated prizes Air Show in Sonoma Co.-sell popcorn sodas, etc. at a booth (have a possible volunteer) Health and Harmony Fair booth (sell ribbons, T-shitrs, crafts) community.com AOL Non-profit organizations list Contact Doug Flutie phone company to donate one hour a week of conference call time for the Board of Directors. Please keep sending these ideas so we can build a large list. Contacting AOL: I have made initial contact and will proceed to follow up. It is possible that this task will be forwarded soon to an ongoing fundraisers committee member. Vacation: I will be out of town on Vacation from Thur June 13, through Thur June 20th.
