I'd like to know more about the use of antivirals in autism. I hope

the list doesn't mind too much if I just fire out a whole bunch of

questions that leap to mind?

Do most of Dr. Goldberg's patients get a trial of antivirals?

Do they get them with or without direct lab evidence of viral

infection? (empiric treatment)

Is there any other " indirect " evidence of chronic viral infection

(other than titers) other than NK activity?

How much does Dr. Goldberg think autism is due to chronic ongoing

infection, vs the after-effects of an old infection (ie, brain

damage)?

How many kids with autism have an autoimmune brain pathology, and how

many have " normal " immune systems, but are dealing with current or

aftereffects of an " outside " infection?

Which are the most common viral pathogens- I hear stuff here and

there about HHV6, but I just joined here, and I haven't yet heard

about much else.

Do many of the kids here have elevated rubella titers? My daughter's

has always been much higher than the threshold (~150 as opposed to

9.9) and I wonder if Dr. Goldberg would treat based on this alone?

I'm gonna try to get in on the chat tonight, and hope to ask some of

these questions directly of Dr. Goldberg, but I wonder if anyone has

any input on this, before hand.

Thanks,
